These document to presentation AI routes cover Word to PPT, HTML to PowerPoint and image to PPT use cases, but format support alone does not guarantee that every table, image or relationship will transfer exactly.

Choose the input that best preserves meaning. A Word to PPT workflow can expose headings and paragraphs; a PDF may preserve page appearance but hide logical structure; a spreadsheet contains values but still needs a human explanation; and JPG to PPT or PNG to PPT requires interpretation rather than simple text selection.

Prepare the source before generation

   Add a short note stating what the audience should know, believe or do. This prevents the generator from treating every document section as equally important.

   Clean the hierarchy

   Use descriptive headings, remove duplicate passages and separate evidence from commentary. Expand abbreviations that an outside reader would not understand.

   Mark non-negotiable evidence

   Identify figures, quotations, dates and citations that must remain exact. Put their source beside them instead of expecting the model to reconstruct provenance.

   Choose the target length

   A 30-page report should not automatically become 30 slides. Decide the narrative length and move supporting detail into an appendix when necessary.

Review the generated narrative against the source

Begin with omissions. Ask which conclusion, qualification or counterpoint disappeared when the source was compressed. Then check additions: generated transitions can sound plausible while introducing a relationship the source never claimed.

Next inspect proportionality. A document may devote many pages to methodology because the evidence requires it, while the presentation needs only one clear methods slide. Compression is acceptable when the audience still understands the scope and limitations of the result.

• Trace every number back to a labelled source location.
• Preserve the time period, unit and denominator for metrics.
• Keep uncertainty and material exceptions visible.
• Move supporting detail to an appendix instead of deleting it blindly.
• Replace generic AI headings with claims the slide actually supports.

Images, tables and citations

Do not assume a visual copied from a source remains legible on a slide. Rebuild dense tables around the comparison the audience needs, retain the source note and check that totals still reconcile. If a chart is recreated, confirm axes, units and date ranges.

For external research, keep citations close to the claim. A general sources slide is useful, but it does not tell the reader which source supports a specific number. For internal or confidential material, use the approved attribution pattern and remove data that should not enter an external tool.

Document to presentation AI export criteria

The document to presentation AI workflow passes when the deck is shorter than the source without becoming less trustworthy. A reviewer should be able to understand the main decision, locate supporting evidence and edit the presentation without returning to the AI tool for every change.

The workflow fails when the deck becomes a decorative summary: missing qualifications, unsupported numbers, unreadable screenshots or generic takeaways. In that case, repair the source hierarchy and regenerate only the affected section rather than polishing the same weak draft.
